Basic Training - Every Youth Deserves a Trained Leader

Youth Protection - Every person in Scouting MUST have Youth Protection Training. Please check the link to the right to take youth protection training. 

Fast Start Training - Fast Start Trainings are online through the MY.SCOUTING.ORG portal and help leaders get started in understanding their specific position in Cub Scouting, Boy Scouting, Venturing, Charter Organization, or Unit Commissioner.

You will need your Scouting ID Number to take online courses.

If you do not have this number you can contact your local Scout Office.

Leader Specific Training - This training takes place in your local regions, or Districts.  It usually takes a few hours and they can be done online! (you will need your Scouting ID to do this)  Leader Trainings include:

• Webelos Leader (Can be taken online at  MY.SCOUTING.ORG)
• Cubmaster (Can be taken online at  MY.SCOUTING.ORG)
• Pack Committee (Can be taken online at  MY.SCOUTING.ORG)
• Scoutmaster
• Troop Committee Challenge (Can be taken online at  MY.SCOUTING.ORG)
• Venturing Advisor (Can be taken online at MY.SCOUTING.ORG)
• Crew Committee Training (Can be taken online at MY.SCOUTING.ORG)
• Commissioner Basic Training

Outdoor Training - Leaders finish their training by completing outdoor training for their specific age group. This lasts anywhere from a Saturday to an overnight experience.

• Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) - Cub Scouting
• Outdoor Leader Skills for Webelos Leaders (OWLS) - Webelos Leaders
• Intro to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) - Boy Scouting and Varsity Scouting, as well as outdoor oriented Venturing Crew Leaders
