Keeping our Scouts Safe in 2016

We are marking 2016 with the commitment to keep our Scouts safe from all different kinds of accidents, mishaps, and injuries. To that end, we are promoting and implementing the Scouters Code of Conduct among all of our leaders, staff, and volunteers. We will require leaders to sign these at our events and keep a copy for themselves to review from time-to-time. Some of these standards include:

  • Upholding the Scout Oath and Law
  • Complying with Youth Protection Standards
  • Transporting youth safely
  • Refraining from engaging in or discussing sexual activities as part of a Scouting activity or event
  • Refraining from consuming alcohol, illegal drugs, or pornography as part of a Scouting activity or event
We believe that as people take steps to understand and implement this code, that it will create a safer haven around all of our Scouting activities and events. Please feel free to circulate the Scouters Code of Conduct among parents and leaders in your units.
